Trend Forecasting – Spring 2013

For those of you attending the CGTA Toronto trade show this weekend, we’re pleased to give you a small preview of our new Spring 2013 collection.

And here are some décor trend ideas we have for you for the Spring 2013 season.

As much as we’d love to, it isn’t practical to revamp the home every season. Saturated neutrals blended with soft natural colours and splashes of bold colour are making a big statement for Spring 2013. Keep your main colour palette to earth tones, khaki taupe, caramel and sandstone, and the options to accessorize with colour are limitless.  If you’re looking to achieve that ‘wow’ appeal through personal touches, bring out your personality with colourful throws, patterned pillows, or fun and flirty décor items.

Spring is also a fun time to experiment with fresh colour. The best way is to accessorize with fun glassware and dinnerware. Add some colourful cups, bowls and plates to your table and adorn the table with some soft hued table linens and coloured glass vases.

Wall decor is another big trend for Spring. While wallpaper has been fashionable since the ’60s, there are so many less taxing techniques and adornments you can add that aren’t so permanent. Bringing a subtle hint of adventure to your space, ornaments such as this papier mache rhino head give the right balance of trend setter and conversation piece.

Similar to home decor trends for Spring 2013, less is more on the runway as well. Update your look with a beautiful gauzy pinstripe scarf while you wait for the warmer days to arrive.
